英國陸軍:合併最後2個戰車團

英國第1戰車團與第2戰車團進行合併作業為英國國防部削減成本工作之一項目,減少戰車數量決定是在2010年計畫削減8%軍費開支並在2015年完成,但是審查後決定戰車數量減少40%,

重型火砲將減少35%,英國陸軍在1990年時有4個戰車團800輛戰車使用,目前可供調用的只有156輛戰車其中56輛屬於新成立戰車團,將操作最新升級的Challenger 2型TES改良型戰車,

具備防禦IED爆炸裝置,反裝甲火箭彈(RPG)和反裝甲飛彈.

當然也有民眾質疑目前俄羅斯與烏克蘭發生內戰,英國陸軍現在進行戰車數量減少可能對於未來部署產生問題,對此英國國防部則表示會進行一部分戰車儲存作業在必要時立即能夠使用.
